Questions
1. The engine is difficult to start
If the oil pump cannot supply oil properly or the oil supply pressure is insufficient, it may be difficult for the engine to obtain enough fuel when starting, resulting in difficulty in starting. Multiple fires can be started, or the start time is significantly extended.
2. Vehicle power decline
A failure of the pump can result in an unstable or insufficient fuel supply, preventing the engine from getting enough power. In the process of driving, you may feel weak acceleration, climbing difficulties, and slow speed improvement.
Especially in rapid acceleration or high-speed driving, the phenomenon of insufficient power will be more obvious.
- Engine jitter
When the oil pump is not working properly, the fuel injection is not uniform, which will cause engine jitter. This jitter may be more noticeable at idle, or it may occur during driving.
The engine may experience intermittent shaking, or persistent slight shaking, affecting the comfort and stability of driving.
4. The instrument panel fault light
Many vehicles are equipped with a fuel system fault indicator, which may light up when there is a problem with the pump. For example, engine failure lights, fuel warning lights, etc.
If you see these fault lights on, check the fuel system of the vehicle, including the oil pump, as soon as possible.
- Abnormal noise
A damaged oil pump may make unusual noises. While the engine is running, you may hear buzzing, hissing, or other abnormal sounds that may be coming from the oil pump area.
If the noise changes with the engine speed, or is more obvious in specific working conditions, then the possibility of problems with the oil pump is greater.
- Increased fuel consumption
Failure of the pump can lead to an inaccurate fuel supply, making the engine burn less efficiently and thus increase fuel consumption. If you find that the fuel consumption of the vehicle is significantly higher than normal, and the driving habits and driving conditions have not changed, then the pump may be one of the problems.
In addition, increased fuel consumption may also be accompanied by power reduction and abnormal exhaust emissions
Solution
First, the engine is difficult to start
· Check whether the fuel line is blocked or leaking, and clean or repair it in time if there is a problem.
· Check whether the oil pump relay and fuse are normal, and replace them in time if damaged.
· Use professional equipment to check the working status and oil supply pressure of the oil pump, and consider replacing the oil pump if the pressure is insufficient.
Second, vehicle power decline
· Clean or replace the fuel filter to ensure smooth fuel supply.
· Check whether the fuel nozzle is blocked or poorly atomized, and clean or replace it.
· Conduct a comprehensive inspection of the fuel system, including the oil pump, tubing, oil rail and other components, to ensure that there is no fault.
- Engine jitter
· Check whether the spark plug and ignition coil are working properly, and replace them in time if there is any problem.
· Check the engine intake system for blockage and clean or replace the air filter.
· Repair or replace the oil pump to ensure even fuel injection.
Four, the instrument panel fault light
· Use car diagnostic instrument to read the fault code and determine the cause of the fault.
· Check and repair the fuel system according to the fault code prompts.
· If it is determined that the oil pump is faulty, replace the oil pump in time to eliminate the fault.
- Abnormal noise
· Check whether the oil pump is firmly installed, and tighten it if it is loose.
· Check whether there are worn or damaged parts inside the oil pump, and repair or replace them.
· Check other parts of the engine for abnormal noise to eliminate interference factors.
- Increased fuel consumption
· Check whether the tire pressure is normal to ensure the minimum driving resistance of the vehicle.
· Check engine combustion and make adjustments or repairs if necessary.
· Replace faulty oil pumps to ensure accurate fuel supply and improve engine combustion efficiency.
